Sponsored by the Citi Foundation and supported by the Education Bureau, Sham Shui Po District Office, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, School of Design of PolyU and School of Engineering of HKUST, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service is launching The 4th Social Innovation‧Community 4.0 Competition. The competition is organized for identify community problems and produce viable prototypes. All local secondary schools will be invited to join this competition.
The 4th Competition is now open for application! The focus of this year's competition is Sham Shui Po District. Students will receive training on the Design Thinking Model and interact with the residents of Sham Shui Po to learn more about the social problems faced by different communities. Students will be able to create innovative solutions through creativity, product design and applied technology (STEM) to bring about social innovative prototypes that can be implemented in the neighbourhood.
Briefing sessions will be held to explain the details of the competition, so that students and teachers who wish to participate can better understand the key points of the competition.
The 4th "Social Innovation. Community 4.0" Competition
Eligibility: 4-6 Students and 1 teacher from Secondary 1 to Secondary 6 of local secondary schools
Competition topic (choose 1 out of 3): (1) Improve Road Safety and Inclusive Mobility for Persons with Disabilities, (2) Enhance Mental Health of Seniors for Better Self-esteem, (3) Create Public Play Space for Youths and Children
Awards: Winning team-Overseas social innovation study trip; Book coupons-second and third runners-up and merit awards
