星島日報 – 中學生發揮創意 組裝電動車

(星島日報報道)來自五所中學的四十一名中學生,包括皇仁書院、將軍澳官立中學、聖母無玷聖心書院、嘉諾撒聖瑪利書院及香港道教聯合會鄧顯紀念中學,本月初剛完成一個為期四天的課程,學習電動車的構造,並動手組裝及駕駛電動車。

不少學生會在暑假期間,參與不同暑假課程,善用時間並裝備自己。中電與香港科技大學鵬程青年工程師學苑,早前就合辦中學生電動車暑期課程,以啟發中學生對工程的興趣。活動於本月9日至12日舉行,共有41名中學生參加。他們要分隊組裝獨一無二的電動車,並參與壓軸比賽,比拼創意及團隊精神。 Read more

近年來興起的STEM教育備受關注,STEM指科學(science)、科技(technology)、工程(engineering)及數學(mathematics),香港科技大學鵬程青年工程師學苑再獲鵬程慈善基金捐助,在暑假伊始,辦電動車暑期課程推動STEM教育。41名來自5間本地中學的學生在科大完成了為期4天的課程,學習電動車的構造,成功組裝電動車並進行試駕。 Read more

科學、科技、工程及數學(STEM) 近年討論得熱烘烘,加上教育局在今年三月公布,發放一筆過20萬的津貼給所有官立、資助、 直資和按位津貼中學,旨在推動STEM發展,STEM再次成為城中熱話。香港科技大學鵬程青年工程師學苑副總監陳銳斌教授指出,推STEM 是大趨勢,但香港相對較落後。 Read more

iFuture 17 – Future Engineers Project was held on 15 July 2017 in LT-J, HKUST this year. The event was co-organized by six engineering-related institutions including IET, ICE, ASHRAE, IMechE, AES and HKIE. 130 secondary school students were led by 12 HKUST engineering students to accomplish a series of engineering tasks. JA Engineering Discovery Day was held on 8 July 2017 in HKUST Campus this year. We are delighted to co-operate with Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JAHK) to nurture secondary school students’ understanding of the importance of and interests in engineering, as well as, educate students on how engineering can create innovative solutions in our daily life. A paper tower building competition for secondary school students was held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) on July 8 with the aim of inspiring young people to be future leaders in engineering by developing their team spirit, logical thinking and engineering concepts.
